I Wish

That things were less complicated
and more articulated.
That the world accepted all,
and people in crisis could be lifted after a fall.
That unseeing eyes could see for a day,
That when there was a will, there was always a way.
That more thing made sense,
and at no great expense.
That children had hopes and dreams to follow,
Instead of discouraging words, so cold and hollow.
That unborn lives had a chance to thrive,
If only they could be kept alive.
That instead of brokenness and abuse,
We could encourage and instill skills that could be put to good use.
That everyone could understand the beauty of life,
and trials and storms could be taken in strife.
That one day everyone knew what life was all about,
and people never had to do without.
Call it heaven, if you care,
But if I had a chance and could dare,
I would want all this and to all I would share.
